I founded Thesan in September 2017 to provide 360 degree support for children and young people, parents, teachers and school leaders. 

My work includes:

-  Consultancy on strategy and organisational development; including 'deep dives' into key areas, reviews, development planning, future proofing and follow-up training and support

-  Leadership coaching and training

-  Policy development, training and resources to promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

- Strategic planning, consultancy and training to promote social mobility in education

-  Relationships and Sex Education specialist resources around gender identity, sexuality and consent

-  Public speaking on the Eradication of Rape Culture


I have a Master's degree in Education and - according to my wife - am frankly a bit of a geek because I will never stop learning. 

Carolyn Bradley

Academic Research Lead

I am Carolyn Bradley, a Head of Drama, Research Lead and Specialist Leader of Education. I deliver whole school CPD on Teaching and Learning and support colleagues with their classroom teaching through Coaching.

As Research Lead, my role is to disseminate academic research to colleagues to support with their teaching and learning, and for the last four years I have been co-ordinating my school's participation in the MYRIAD project, a large scale research project into adolescent mental health run by Oxford University.

I have completed two Master's degrees, in Theatre Practices and, most recently, in Education. In my recent MA in Education, my areas of academic interest were reflective practice, independent learning, and character development.

I am a freelance education consultant with a specialism in Arts Education; clients have included BBC Learning (Education Consultant for the BBC2 programme "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time: Page to Stage"), Welcome to Yorkshire Tourist Board, AQA, and 1927 Theatre Company.

My work has been published in Impact Journal, Drama Magazine, and Teaching Shakespeare, and I was shortlisted for Arts and Drama Teacher of the Year at the TES Awards in 2016.

Kate Barnett

Chartered Educational Psychologist

I have 17 years’ experience of working for a Local Authority, providing Educational Psychology services to schools, families and children and young people aged 0 to 25 years.

I assess children’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) and help staff to implement appropriate interventions, based on psychological theory and evidence-based practice.

As a qualified teacher (Mathematics and Psychology), I am passionate about applying psychology to enhance teaching and learning. I work systemically with schools, supporting teachers and parents to remove barriers to learning. 

Di Riddell


Since qualifying with a Diploma in Child and Adolescent Counselling in 2014,  I have developed my skills in promoting emotional wellbeing for children and families.  

I am a trained bereavement support worker and a qualified NLP practitioner.  

I currently work as a School Counsellor for children aged five to sixteen years, supervised by a qualified Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychologist.  

With a background in Drama, I work creatively to facilitate emotional resilience, build self-esteem and enable children and young people to adapt and respond appropriately to periods of transition or trauma.


Goddess of Illumination

Thesan was a mythological goddess of the dawn. Her name derives from 'thesi', meaning illumination and 'thesviti' meaning clarity. The ancient Etruscans believed that Thesan could illuminate future pathways, providing clear vision.
